Relaxed Fit

Dresses in the Winter always seemed so ridiculous to me. Like, do you understand how cold it is outside? But lately I find myself flirting with very feminine silhouettes. So to feed my very off-season addiction, I've found some layering pieces that are essential and surprisingly, flattering.

This double layered sweater dress from Topshop is surprisingly warm and comfy. Adding a thick layer of tights certainly helps with the warming aspect, but I don't want to give the tights all the credit. The fabric is smooth with a good weight to it and sits nicely on my body that sports a pair of extra wide hips.

Shift dresses always make me uneasy. Most often, I think they only look good on girls with narrow shoulders and hips. They either seem to tug too tightly on my backside or don't have enough movement in the shoulders. Or they just end up looking like a big bag. But I must say, I was impressed with the way this one laid on my body type. It has great room for movement but not so much that your figure becomes lost. It's well structured with an understanding of how an actual human female looks like.

Plus the cute little heart detail is a nice touch! Sweater Dress: Topshop Quilted Sweater Dress | Shoes: Steve Madden Floral Slip-On Sneakers | Watch: Akribos
