We've been to the restaurant Analog once before but only for their fantastic beverage menu and to split a basket of seasoned cajun fries. So for my birthday, we decided to check out their food menu. Let me tell you, it worth going back just to order a plate of jumbalaya or a Po' Boy.

Analog is run by the same owners of a very chic and famous cocktail bar in Chicago called Violet Hour. They excel in specialty crafted cocktails which has carried over to their food ventures. Analog has all the amazing mixology factors of a luxury bar but with a uncomplicated decor and a small, yet well-prepared menu. Even the simplist of menu options have a subtle pack of WOW. The menu options are all cajun ispired and they use many locally sourced meats and produce from a handful of small, well-known organic farms in the area.

Although the restaurant/bar itself is not much to look at, what it lacks in showmanship, you get back ten fold in quality and craft. I ordered the fried chicken po boy that is very simply plated with, dare I say, almost basic looking ingredients. But when you take that first bite into the buttery bread and crispy fried chicken with a nice crunch of slaw, you realize that looks are truly only skin deep. Tony ordered the Jumbalaya with pulled chicken from a local farm and this plate I would've licked clean if I wasn't wearing all white.

They just released their new cocktail menu for Spring as well, so we indulged in a couple of very interesting and powerful concoctions. When I go out to drink, I like going to bars that have something unique to offer that I couldn't make at home (or at least without much difficulty or money). Who wants to go out and by mint flavored simple syrup? How often can you find yourself using that at your home bar? Probably very little. So it's worth it to me to spend $11 on a drink where the ingredients are hard to find and the drink and difficult to make.

Ann Taylor Loft was having a 60% off sale and I found maybe too many shirts that I really adored. Including the one I wore to Analog. I really liked the whole idea of white on white for a lovely Spring evening. So I paired this floral sweater with some whtie pants. It was slightly cool outside so this was a perfect combination.

Tony also got me this sweet octopus necklace from the crazy awesome artist named April Alayne. Her name sounds like a famous movie star but her illustrations and jewelry are crafted in Baltimore in a cute little vintage shop of her making. You should check out her stuff, it's amazing!
