My Battle with Vests

Ahh, the age-old vest. The article of clothing, besides yoga pants, that can help pick a Mom out of a crowd. I have had a polarizing battle with vests for many years. For awhile I loved vests; puffer, professional, athletic, it didn't matter. Then my brain would swing to the opposite side and despise the styling of them. Not only do I associate them with a herd of stroller weilding mom's but I question the practicality of them. No sleeves? How do you stay warm? But on this day, I happen to really love this look.

Even though I feel pretty motherly in this vest, I feel like the unfinished edges and worn-out zipper pockets give it a "young mom" kind of look. I would even make the argument that it could work in a professional setting if you paired it with some flared trousers. You can stick to your own personal rule book as much as you want but if you truely like something, I think it's fair to burn the book and just do whatever the heck you want. Life is too short to worry about such things.
