C2E2 Recap

Greetings Nerdom!

Fair Warning: This post is about to get really nerdy and weird.

I had SO MUCH FUN at C2E2 this past weekend! I wish I could say all the panels I wanted to go to were great but we spent so much time on the floor looking at everything and visiting all the vendors that we only got to see one!

I think my favorite part, every year, is seeing all the amazing art in Artist Alley. It's not just reprints of previously drawn work, but mostly original concepts or either famous characters, indepedent books, or ideas of their own creation. It's truly amazing seeing all of that talent in one room. You can spend hours shuffling from booth to booth flipping hundreds of pages of original pieces.

That's just a taste of the art we saw. It's inspiring every year!

We also visited some friends at artist alley. My friend Ryan Browne has a very ridiculous and funny comic published through Image called, God Hates Astronauts . It's kind of become a cult sensation. If you love watching bad movies and enjoy overall, everyday nonesense you should pick up his book.

I also picked up my friend Dave Scheidt's book Spooky Sleepover. The artistry is adorable and Dave is a hilarious guy. We all share a entertaining fascination of Steve Harvey and his legacy. We all went to one of his tapings last year and it was incredibly awkward and pretty terrible. Fun was had by all.

Jason Mamoa was also at the con sporting a ridiculous feathered top hat and looking buff as hell. Per usaul. We didn't end up going to his panel because the line was quite long. Would've been cool to meet the man who played Khal Drogo. Also have you ever seen this guys audition tape!? It's incredible! It's no wonder he was cast.

Sometimes you need to just hang with your crew and nerd out hard core. Already looking forward to next year!
