Stripes on Stripes

I have been just WAITING to wear this striped pontifino shirt from Express. I bought it back in March and have just been staring out the window waiting for it to be warm enough outside to show it off to the world. And now, it finally feels like summer in Chicago.

I kept on brainstorming ways to wear this shirt, and boyish 'ole me, just kept on on ending on denim. And although theres absolultely nothing wrong with denim, I just wanted to make this shirt unique and elevate it to a level that makes it wearable for almost any occasion.

I just love having an excuse to mix prints and patterns. Somehow I'm either in completely neutral and monotone outfits or wearing some crazy mix that, I think, works somehow. Who knows.

On a side note, thinking about dying my hair darker. It just lightened up SO MUCH and I really wanted to be a true brunette. What do yout think? I know it's summer but I just loved the dark look.

Just finished up with the month long promotion for the Dew Tour in Chicago. I ended up managing the team for the Chicago market and it was a little rough so I'm VERY grateful to be returning to civilian life! Don't have much in my schedule this week, luckily, because actually Tony's car was stolen on Monday and it has been a bit of a nightmare. We've taken all the necessary steps but we were hoping to have this car for another 2-3 years before needing to purchase a new one. So now we're just praying that the police find it or it turns up in a tow lot somewhere so we can get just a little money back.

It's just one of those really aweful things that happen to people in life and you are helpless to change it. Luckily we have savings but again, we had so many other plans for that money that we were working towards. When life hands you lemons...you make sangria. Isn't that how that goes? Oh well. Hoping this coming week will be just a bit more positive for us. Trying to keep our heads up.
